"I'm just a kid. I have nothing important to offer anyone. I'm useless until I grow up."
How it sounds in your head: You hear the adults talk and you know you don't matter yet. Your ideas get brushed off. Your voice doesn't count. You're just waiting to be old enough to actually be valuable. Right now, you're just taking up space.
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
-- 1 Timothy 4:12Enemy whisper amplified by age-based dismissal from adults who forget God uses young people mightily.
Adults constantly say 'when you're older' and dismiss your input. Your body is changing but you're not 'big' yet, caught between kid and teen, feeling like you don't fit anywhere or contribute anything.
Samuel was a young boy serving in the temple when God spoke directly to him with a message for all Israel—not to the experienced priest Eli. His first prophetic word came instantly as a child, and all Israel recognized him as God's prophet before he even hit puberty.
I REFUSE the lie that my age makes me worthless. IT IS WRITTEN that I should let no one despise my youth, and God doesn't wait until I'm grown to use me. I am Abraham's seed, heir according to promise, and the BARAK blessing doesn't have an age minimum. IT IS WRITTEN that out of the mouths of babes God has ordained strength. I am valuable RIGHT NOW, not someday. My voice matters today. God speaks to me and through me at exactly this age, and my contribution is significant in His kingdom this very moment.
The Father isn't waiting for you to hit 18 to start loving your contribution. He's leaning in RIGHT NOW, excited about what He placed in you at THIS age, celebrating every word you speak and every step you take, running toward you with the robe and ring while you're still in middle school.
