"I'm forgotten by everyone; no one thinks about me anymore unless obligated."
How it sounds in your head: The phone doesn't ring. Visitors come out of duty, not desire. Your friends are dead or in their own struggles. You're alone in this room, alone in your mind, forgotten by the world and maybe even God.
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me."
-- Isaiah 49:15-16Enemy isolation tactic magnified by physical limitations that prevent connection and cultural obsession with youth.
Days pass without meaningful conversation. People glance at phones when visiting. You hear about gatherings you weren't included in. Loneliness feels like evidence of worthlessness.
Cast out, alone, dying in the desert with her son, completely forgotten by humans. God found her, spoke to her, and she named Him 'El Roi' - the God who SEES. He sees you when everyone else looks away.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm forgotten. IT IS WRITTEN that I am INSCRIBED on the palms of God's hands - not temporarily noted but permanently engraved. Human forgetfulness doesn't change divine attention. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 139:17-18 that God's thoughts toward me outnumber the grains of sand - not past tense, PRESENT tense, THIS MOMENT. I am never alone because He NEVER leaves nor forsakes. His covenant blessing surrounds me like the wall it mentions - I am SEEN, KNOWN, and REMEMBERED continually.
The Father doesn't forget you when humans do. He's not distracted by youth or put off by limitations - He's running toward you like the prodigal's father, thinking about you MORE than you think about Him.
