Worthless
"I'm just a burden now. My family would be better off without me draining their resources."

How it sounds in your head: I see the worry in their eyes when they talk about my healthcare costs. I hear the sighs when I need help with things I used to do myself. I'm becoming what I never wanted to be—a weight around their necks, draining their time and money.

Psalm 92:12-14

"The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."

-- Psalm 92:12-14
Enemy whispers: You're a burden draining everyone's resources. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Psalm 92:12-14 - 'The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree... They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing.' Your Father doesn't see medical bills—He sees a daughter whose BEST FRUIT may come in these years. You're not a drain—you're righteous in Christ, and the righteous FLOURISH at every age.
Quick Truth: LIE: I'm a financial burden. TRUTH: You flourish and bear fruit in old age; you're blessed, not a curse. (Psalm 92:14)

Enemy accusation combined with culture's utilitarian view that values people only for what they contribute economically.

Why this feels true:

Medical bills are mounting, she needs more help with daily tasks, and she overhears conversations about assisted living costs. The world measures worth by independence and productivity, both of which are diminishing.

2 Samuel 9:1-13
Mephibosheth

Mephibosheth was crippled in both feet, unable to care for himself, with nothing to offer King David. David sought him out, restored ALL of Saul's land to him, gave him a permanent place at the king's table, and said, 'Don't be afraid'—pure grace to someone who called himself a 'dead dog.'

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that I'm a burden because I need help or resources. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous flourish and bear fruit even in old age, fresh and flourishing. I am not defined by what I can do but by whose I am—a daughter of the King with a permanent seat at His table. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and in the field, blessed coming in and going out. The BARAK blessing covers my needs, and Christ has redeemed me from the curse of lack. My family is blessed by my presence, not burdened—I carry Heaven's favor wherever I am.

But God actually:

The Father isn't calculating your medical costs—He's preparing your seat at His table. Like Mephibosheth, you have nothing to offer but your brokenness, and He says, 'That's exactly when I run fastest toward you with restoration you can't imagine.'
