"I'm faking confidence—inside I'm terrified someone will ask me a question I can't answer."
How it sounds in your head: You look calm on the outside, but inside you're panicking. What if the teacher calls on you? What if someone asks your opinion and you sound stupid? You're just pretending to be confident and brave, but really you're scared all the time.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

Joshua was terrified to lead Israel after Moses died—facing giants and fortified cities. God said 'Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is WITH you wherever you go.' Joshua's fear didn't disqualify him—God's presence EMPOWERED him, and he took the Promised Land.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm faking confidence and will be exposed as terrified. IT IS WRITTEN that God has NOT given me a spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE, and a SOUND MIND. Fear is not my identity—it's a lying spirit with NO AUTHORITY over me. IT IS WRITTEN that perfect love casts out fear, and I am PERFECTLY LOVED. I don't have to have all the answers to be confident—I have the Holy Spirit, who leads me into all truth. The BARAK blessing protected Jacob even when he was AFRAID and RUNNING—how much more does it protect me as Abraham's seed through Christ? I am not faking bravery—I am FILLED with the Spirit of power.
The Father doesn't condemn you for feeling afraid—He sits with you in it and whispers 'I am WITH you.' The disciples were terrified in the storm, and Jesus didn't shame them—He calmed the wind and said 'Peace, be still.'
