"I'm failing to teach them what they need to know for life, and they'll struggle because I didn't prepare them."
How it sounds in your head: There are a thousand life skills you haven't taught them yet. Financial literacy, conflict resolution, practical skills, spiritual foundation. Time is running out, and you're sending them into the world unprepared.
"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
-- Philippians 1:6Performance pressure from educational culture that measures parenting by skills transferred.
You see gaps in their knowledge and maturity, and other kids seem more equipped. You're overwhelmed by everything they need to learn, and you haven't been intentional enough.
Timothy's father isn't even mentioned as a believer—his faith came from his grandmother Lois and mother Eunice. Despite an apparently absent or unbelieving father, Timothy became Paul's most trusted ministry partner. God filled the gaps the father left, and Timothy's calling wasn't hindered.
I REFUSE the lie that my children's success depends on me perfectly preparing them for life. IT IS WRITTEN that He who BEGAN a good work in them will COMPLETE it. I am not responsible for finishing what only God can complete. I am the BRANCH; I abide and fruit comes naturally. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 54:13 'All your children shall be taught by the LORD'—He is their primary teacher, and His curriculum is better than mine. The BARAK blessing over my household means supernatural wisdom will find them when they need it. God taught Joseph in a prison, Daniel in exile, and David in a field. He doesn't need perfect parenting to produce prepared kids. I plant seeds and HE GIVES THE INCREASE. My job is connection and love; His job is completion and equipping.
The Father sees you anxious about all they haven't learned yet, and He's laughing with joy: 'You think their preparation depends on you? I've been preparing them since the womb. You're part of My plan, not the whole plan. Just love them—I'll handle the rest.' He's already assigned teachers, mentors, and experiences you haven't even imagined.
