"I'm damaged goods because of how my parents treated me in childhood."
How it sounds in your head: The neglect, the words, maybe worse—it marked me. I see it in my failed relationships, my parenting mistakes, my self-sabotage. Seventy-four years old and still broken by what happened before I turned ten.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Enemy defining your identity by what was done TO you rather than what Christ did FOR you.
The patterns are undeniable—you can trace your struggles back to those early wounds. Decades of evidence seem to prove you're permanently damaged.
Five failed marriages, living with a man she wasn't married to, hiding her shame by coming to the well alone in the heat of the day. One conversation with Jesus and she's INSTANTLY transformed into an evangelist—running to tell the whole city about Him with no shame.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm damaged goods. IT IS WRITTEN: I am a NEW CREATION in Christ—old things have PASSED AWAY, all things HAVE BECOME NEW. Not becoming, not in process—HAVE BECOME. Past tense. Finished. The woman I was—the wounded child—passed away the moment I believed. IT IS WRITTEN: I am the righteousness of God in Christ. Not damaged. Not broken. Not 'healing.' WHOLE. The BARAK blessing covers me—I am blessed, restored, and the Father delights in me NOW.
The Father doesn't see you through the lens of your childhood—He sees you through the blood of His Son. Every wound, every deficit, every mark—covered. You're not His rehab project. You're His beloved daughter, already perfect in Christ, already whole.
