"I'm constantly under attack because I'm not strong enough spiritually to protect myself."
How it sounds in your head: Other kids seem fine but I keep getting hit with bad thoughts, fear at night, weird stuff happening. Maybe I'm not praying enough or reading my Bible enough. I feel like a target and I don't know how to defend myself.
"No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling."
-- Psalm 91:10Source: Religious teaching that protection is EARNED through spiritual disciplines, making his safety dependent on his performance instead of Christ's blood covenant.
Attacks DO come - nightmares, scary thoughts, oppressive feelings in his room. Since adults told him to 'pray more' and 'read your Bible,' he assumes attacks mean he's failing at those, not realizing he's protected by COVENANT, not compliance.
When enemy armies surrounded Elisha and his servant panicked seeing they were outnumbered, Elisha prayed his eyes be opened - INSTANTLY he saw mountains full of horses and chariots of FIRE surrounding them. The protection was ALREADY THERE before they saw it; God struck the entire army blind in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm under constant attack because I'm not strong enough. IT IS WRITTEN that no evil shall befall me and no plague comes near my dwelling. My protection isn't based on my prayer life - it's based on COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him. The BARAK blessing protected Jacob's MURDEROUS sons when cities should have retaliated - 'the terror of God was upon the cities.' I am surrounded by angelic armies whether I see them or not. The wicked one does NOT touch me because I am born of God.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to pray harder before He protects you - He's ALREADY stationed angels around you this second, mountains full of chariots of fire. Like Elisha's servant, you just need eyes opened to see what's ALREADY guarding you, zero earning required.
