"I'm caught between two worlds — too ethnic for some spaces, not ethnic enough for others."
How it sounds in your head: You don't fit anywhere fully. In professional spaces, you're 'too much.' In cultural spaces, you're 'not enough.' You're code-switching so constantly you don't know who the real you is anymore.
"For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity."
-- Ephesians 2:14-15Enemy — the DIVISION lie that makes you believe you must CHOOSE instead of INTEGRATE every part of your identity.
Both sides have criticized you. You've been called a sellout and too ethnic in the same week. The belonging you crave feels impossible because you're straddling two worlds.
Paul was a Hebrew of Hebrews, a Pharisee, Roman citizen, Greek-educated — multiple identities that should have fragmented him. Instead, he said, 'I count it ALL as loss for Christ.' He didn't choose — he INTEGRATED everything under his identity in Christ and turned the world upside down.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm caught between two worlds. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ has made both ONE and broken down every wall of separation. I am not fragmented — I am COMPLETE in Him. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away, all things have become new. My identity in Christ INTEGRATES every part of my story. I don't code-switch — I walk in WHOLENESS. The BARAK blessing rests on the FULL me, and I belong everywhere God places me. I am ABRAHAM'S SEED by promise, and that identity makes me complete.
Your Father doesn't see you as 'between' anything — He sees you as a masterpiece that integrates every color, every experience, every part of your journey. You're not too much or not enough; you're EXACTLY what He designed, and the world needs the WHOLE you, not the edited version.
