"I'm being tested. God won't provide until I prove I can be faithful with little."
How it sounds in your head: You've heard Luke 16:10 quoted—'faithful in little, faithful in much'—and believe you're in a divine testing period. God is watching to see if you'll complain, if you'll stay grateful with scraps, if you'll manage the pennies before He releases the dollars. You feel like you're on probation.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
-- Ephesians 2:8-9Source: Religious teaching that makes God a taskmaster requiring proof before blessing, turning relationship into performance review.
The Scripture about faithfulness in little IS real, and you see the logic of testing before promoting. It feels humble and right to wait for God's approval before expecting increase.
He was crippled, hiding in poverty, grandson of David's enemy Saul, expecting judgment. David didn't test him or make him prove worthiness—he RESTORED all of Saul's land IMMEDIATELY and gave him a permanent seat at the king's table based purely on covenant with Jonathan.
I REFUSE the lie that God is testing me and withholding provision until I prove myself. IT IS WRITTEN that I am saved by GRACE through faith, not by works. Provision comes the same way—GRACE, not probation. I don't earn the blessing by managing poverty well—I INHERIT it by being IN CHRIST. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:32 that He who gave His SON will freely give me all things. Not conditionally. FREELY. The BARAK blessing that made Isaac wealthy even when he LIED about his wife is mine by covenant. I am not on probation. I am a DAUGHTER at the Father's table, and the fattened calf is MINE.
Your Father is not standing back with a clipboard grading your faithfulness with little—He's running toward you with MUCH because that's who He IS. The party isn't conditional on your poverty management; it's guaranteed by His nature.
