THE LIE Job Loss & Unemployment
"I'm being tested. God won't move until I've proven I can handle this faithfully."

How it sounds in your head: This is character-building season. God's seeing if you'll worship in the wilderness. You need to demonstrate patience, gratitude, perseverance. When you've proven faithful with unemployment, THEN He'll trust you with the next job. This is boot camp. Pass the test and you get promoted. Fail and you repeat the lesson.

Enemy whispers: 'You're being tested. Prove yourself worthy.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Ephesians 2:8-9 - By GRACE you have been saved through faith, NOT of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, NOT OF WORKS. Not 'you're saved by grace but provision requires passing tests.' GIFT. NOT WORKS. IT IS WRITTEN: if you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much MORE will your Father give good things to those who ask? He's not waiting for you to earn it. He's RUNNING with the answer while you're still forming the question.

WHERE THIS LIE COMES FROM

Religious performance lie making God's provision contingent on passing spiritual tests.

Why this feels true:

Pastors talk about wilderness seasons and testing. The Israelites wandered 40 years. Job suffered before restoration. It feels more spiritual to believe suffering has PURPOSE than to believe it's just enemy attack. Testing narrative gives meaning to the pain.

The Father isn't grading your performance in unemployment. The thief on the cross got Paradise with zero proving period. The prodigal got the party while still smelling like pigs. God's not waiting for you to pass—He's already declaring you APPROVED by the blood of Jesus.
