"I'm alone in this suffering—no one understands this pain and fear."
How it sounds in your head: They visit for a few minutes and leave. They don't lie here in the dark with the pain and the fear. No one knows what this is like. I'm walking this valley completely alone.
"For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin."
-- Hebrews 4:15Enemy isolation tactic making her believe suffering creates separation from God and others.
Others leave at the end of visiting hours; she stays in the pain 24/7. They talk about their lives while she lives in this bed. The physical isolation mirrors the emotional isolation.
They were thrown into fire so hot it killed the guards, seemingly alone in death. King Nebuchadnezzar said, 'I see FOUR men walking in the fire, and the fourth looks like the Son of God'—they were NEVER alone; Jesus was IN THE FIRE with them.
I REFUSE the lie that I am alone in this suffering or that no one understands my pain. IT IS WRITTEN that I do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with my weaknesses—Jesus KNOWS suffering, KNOWS pain, and He is WITH me in this valley. IT IS WRITTEN that even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for YOU ARE WITH ME. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK, and the blessing includes the PRESENCE of God in the fire, in the flood, in the valley. I am NOT alone—the Man of Sorrows walks this with me, and where I am, HE IS.
The Father hasn't sent you into this valley alone—He's WALKED IN with you, closer than your next breath, feeling every pain, catching every tear, whispering 'I'm here, I'm here, I'm here.' The fourth Man in the fire is in your ROOM, and He's not leaving.
