"I'm addicted to lying and even when truth would be easier, I default to deception—I'm pathological."
How it sounds in your head: You lie about things that don't even matter. Where you were, what you did, who you talked to—automatic fabrication. You've lied so much you're not even sure what's true anymore. You're not a liar; you're a pathological liar. There's a difference.
"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
-- John 8:36Enemy twisting behavioral pattern into permanent identity, using clinical language to cement hopelessness and separation from truth-teller identity.
You catch yourself mid-lie and keep going. You lie to avoid conflict, to seem interesting, to fill silence—it's reflexive. That level of automatic deception feels like wiring, not just sin.
Jacob's name literally meant 'deceiver'—he lied to his father, deceived his brother, manipulated his way through life. God didn't wait for him to truth-tell consistently. He renamed him Israel and made him father of twelve tribes while he was still scheming.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm pathologically wired for deception beyond fixing. IT IS WRITTEN that if the Son makes me free, I am free INDEED—completely, truly, permanently free. My lying pattern is behavioral, not biological; learned, not locked. IT IS WRITTEN in Jeremiah 31:33 that God writes His law on my heart—truth-telling is my new nature, not my impossible goal. The BARAK renamed Jacob 'deceiver' into Israel 'prince with God' WHILE he was still lying—my identity shift precedes my behavior shift. I am truth-teller by covenant, and freedom is already mine.
The Father doesn't wait for you to stop lying before He calls you truth-teller. He renames you FIRST, and the new name creates new nature. His presence is what breaks automatic patterns—not your effort, His truth setting you free from the inside out.
