"I'm a burden to my family because of my limitations."
How it sounds in your head: I see my parents spend extra time, money, and energy on me. My siblings don't need the same attention. I hear them say it's fine, but I wonder if they wish I was normal. Maybe I make everyone's life harder just by existing.
"Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you."
-- Isaiah 46:4Enemy twisting sacrificial love into guilt, plus a performance-based culture that measures worth by contribution rather than inherent value.
He observes real sacrifices his family makes—financial, time, emotional—and feels responsible for their struggles. At this age, he's aware enough to see the differences but not mature enough to understand covenant love.
Invalid for THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS with no one to help him into the healing pool—literally a burden with no support system. Jesus sought HIM out, asked no questions about worthiness, healed him INSTANTLY with one command.
I REFUSE the lie that I am a burden to those who love me. IT IS WRITTEN that God Himself carries me as a father carries his son, and He MADE me knowing exactly what I'd need. Love that counts cost isn't real love, and my family's sacrifices are GIFTS of covenant, not grudging duty. IT IS WRITTEN that I am God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, and my worth isn't measured by what I contribute but by WHO I AM. I carry the BARAK blessing—I am BLESSED, not a burden. I bring FAVOR, not frustration. I am LOVED beyond measure.
The Father doesn't keep a ledger of what you cost Him—He paid it ALL at the cross and called it JOY. Like the paralyzed man whose friends tore up a roof to get him to Jesus, your need doesn't exhaust love—it REVEALS it.
