How it sounds in your head: Maybe this chronic pain is God's way of keeping you dependent on Him. Maybe the disability is His tool to teach you patience or build character. Well-meaning Christians have said 'God won't waste this' and 'He's using this for your good,' which sounds spiritual but makes God the author of your suffering.

You've heard Romans 8:28 quoted over your wheelchair, your pain, your limitations. You've been told God is 'using this' so many times you've started to believe He caused it.
Disciples asked whose sin caused his blindness. Jesus said 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him'—then HEALED HIM. God's glory wasn't in the blindness; it was in the HEALING.
I REFUSE the lie that God gave me this disability to teach me or humble me. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to bring ABUNDANT LIFE. My disability is not from my Father—He is HEALER, not inflicter. When Jesus walked earth, He healed EVERYONE who came to Him. He didn't give anyone a disability 'for their good.' IT IS WRITTEN that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights, in whom there is NO variation or shadow of turning. Sickness and limitation are not gifts from Him. I receive His LIFE, His HEALING, His ABUNDANCE right now.
The Father isn't using disability as a teaching tool—that's not His nature. He's the Healer who walked dusty roads touching lepers, opening blind eyes, making lame men leap. He's running toward your pain with HEALING intention, not satisfied with your suffering.
