"I'm a burden to my children financially. Godly women don't need help."
How it sounds in your head: I promised myself I'd never be the needy mother. But here I am, dependent. Good Christian women are supposed to be givers, not takers. I feel like a failure.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Religious pride masquerading as virtue, denying the body of Christ operates by RECEIVING as much as giving.
She's spent 70+ years as the caregiver, the provider, the strong one. Role reversal feels like weakness and women her age were taught to never show need.
She came as a poor widow, GLEANING leftovers in Boaz's field - completely dependent. Boaz called her blessed and favored, and she ended up in the Messianic line, not despite her need but through it.
I REFUSE the lie that needing help makes me a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes all grace abound toward me, that I ALWAYS have ALL sufficiency. My worth isn't in independence - it's in being His daughter. The BARAK blessing flows TO me and THROUGH me, even when I'm receiving. IT IS WRITTEN: I am blessed in the city and blessed in the field, and the Lord commands blessing on everything I set my hand to, including receiving with grace. My Father delights in meeting my needs through His Body.
Your Father doesn't measure your value by self-sufficiency. He runs toward you with provision through people who WANT to honor you, calling it worship when they give.
