Psychology says 'hurt people hurt people' and 'you parent how you were parented.' You've already seen flashes of their patterns in yourself—the impatience, the harshness, the emotional distance. It feels like fighting gravity. The default programming runs deep.
Hezekiah's father Ahaz was one of the worst kings—sacrificed his own sons in fire to demons, filled Jerusalem with idols, shut down the temple. Hezekiah did the OPPOSITE—removed all idols, reopened the temple, led the greatest Passover since Solomon, 'trusted in the LORD... so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah.' COMPLETE reversal in one generation.
I REFUSE the lie that I'll repeat my parents' mistakes because dysfunction is all I know. IT IS WRITTEN that God gave me a NEW HEART and put His Spirit within me to CAUSE me to walk in His ways. I don't parent from downloaded patterns—I parent from DIVINE NATURE. The Holy Spirit in me produces love, patience, kindness, self-control—fruit I didn't have to generate. IT IS WRITTEN I am blessed in my household, my children, my legacy—the BARAK breaks generational curses and establishes NEW PATTERNS. I am not them. Old things passed away. I am new creation, parenting from overflow of being perfectly fathered by God. The cycle is BROKEN, not by my willpower but by His Spirit. I am the generation that REVERSES the curse and establishes blessing.
The Father isn't nervously watching to see if you'll repeat their mistakes—He PUT HIS SPIRIT IN YOU specifically to cause righteous parenting to flow naturally, not as striving but as FRUIT. He's not asking you to 'try harder'; He's reminding you that you already have everything you need because HE LIVES IN YOU.
