"I'll have to choose between retiring and helping my aging parents."
How it sounds in your head: My parents didn't save enough and I'm the responsible one. If I help them, my retirement disappears. If I don't help them, I'm a terrible son. Either way, I lose my future.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Enemy creating false scarcity that pits honoring parents against future security, denying God's ability to provide for both.
Healthcare costs for aging parents are astronomical and he's already seeing siblings avoid responsibility. Someone has to step up, and financial advisors say helping parents derails retirement plans.
Ruth gave up her future security to care for her mother-in-law Naomi with nothing to her name. God didn't make her choose—He gave her Boaz, wealth, provision, and she became part of the Messianic line while caring for Naomi.
I REFUSE the lie that I must choose between honoring my parents and my future provision. IT IS WRITTEN: My God supplies ALL my need according to His riches in glory—not some needs, ALL needs. Ruth cared for Naomi and God gave her everything—provision, future, and legacy. IT IS WRITTEN: I am Abraham's seed and the blessing of Abraham includes overflow for every need. The widow's oil filled every vessel with no shortage. I honor my parents from overflow, not scarcity, and my Father provides for my future AND my family. The barak covers multiple generations, not just one.
Your Father isn't making you choose between family and future—He's running toward you with provision for BOTH from His infinite supply. Like the prodigal getting everything while the older brother also had everything, there's no scarcity in the Father's house.
