"God is withholding because I didn't steward well earlier."
How it sounds in your head: You were careless with what He gave you. You didn't budget, didn't save, didn't invest wisely. Now He's teaching you a lesson through lack. You're disqualified by poor stewardship.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Religion: Making God a cosmic accountant withholding from those who mismanage instead of a Father running toward prodigals.
Stewardship parables seem to reward faithful managers and punish poor ones. Your past carelessness seems to justify present lack.
Worst steward ever—blew entire inheritance on prostitutes. Father's response to PROVEN poor stewardship? Best robe, ring, sandals, fattened calf, party. ZERO punishment, FULL restoration, IMMEDIATE provision. Stewardship didn't determine sonship.
I REFUSE the lie that past stewardship determines present provision. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was STILL a sinner, Christ died for me—He gives to the undeserving. The prodigal PROVED terrible stewardship and got full restoration in minutes. The BARAK blessing protected Abraham through LIES—my provision isn't based on my management. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 1:3 I'm blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ. EVERY. Not 'every you've earned.' EVERY. Period.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to pass a stewardship exam. He's running toward you with resources that make past mismanagement irrelevant—new wine doesn't go in old scorecards.
