"I'll always be the girl who got divorced before thirty."
How it sounds in your head: I failed at the one thing I was supposed to do right. Every wedding I attend is a reminder. Online dating is a minefield of judgment. Church people smile but I see the questions: 'What did she do wrong?' I'm damaged goods now.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Source: Religion weaponizes divorce as permanent scarlet letter, ignoring that God Himself gave Israel a certificate of divorce (Jeremiah 3:8) yet still called her back.
She fills out 'divorced' on forms and feels the weight every time. Sees the way married women at church subtly exclude her, watches guys swipe left when they see her status. The failure feels tattooed on her identity.
She had five husbands and was living with number six—serial divorce and current adultery. Jesus didn't make her fix her relationship status first; He revealed Himself as Messiah to her and made her an evangelist while still in that situation.
I REFUSE the lie that divorce is my permanent identity. IT IS WRITTEN that God restores years the locusts ate—not just stops the bleeding but gives BACK what was lost. My past does not disqualify me from future fullness. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus—not 'less condemnation' or 'conditional forgiveness.' I am the righteousness of God in Christ. The BARAK blessing isn't based on marital status but covenant blood. I am not damaged goods—I am a NEW creation, fully loved, fully qualified, fully RESTORED. The Father is running toward me with the robe, not a lecture.
The Father doesn't see 'divorced'—He sees 'beloved daughter,' fully qualified for every good thing He has planned. He's not withholding your future because of your past; He's already prepared a table before you in the presence of that enemy lie.
