"I wasn't educated or accomplished enough and wasted my potential serving others instead of pursuing dreams."
How it sounds in your head: I was smart. I could have gone to college, had a career, done something significant. But I got married, had kids, kept house. I watch younger women with degrees and careers and wonder what I could have been if I hadn't spent my life serving everyone else.
"But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant."
-- Matthew 23:11World's lie that service and motherhood are 'less than' achievement and education—contradicts God who exalts the humble servant as greatest.
Feminism told your generation you were oppressed for choosing family, while traditionalism told you to be silent about any regrets. You're caught between two accusations: you wasted your potential OR you're ungrateful for your blessings.
Mary sat at Jesus' feet while her sister Martha worked and complained. Religious people criticized Mary for 'wasting' expensive perfume on Jesus instead of using it for practical purposes. Jesus said she chose the BETTER PART, and her act of service would be remembered wherever the Gospel is preached—more famous than most kings.
I REFUSE the lie that I wasted my potential on service instead of achievement. IT IS WRITTEN that the greatest among us is the SERVANT—I didn't waste potential; I invested it in eternal value. Like Mary who 'wasted' perfume, my hidden service is MORE precious to God than any degree or career. IT IS WRITTEN: Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for Me. My decades of serving—kids, husband, others—are TREASURED in heaven. The BARAK blessing doesn't require a résumé. I am GREAT in God's kingdom because I served. My life has ETERNAL significance, not worldly recognition.
The Father doesn't measure your life by diplomas or promotions—He measures it by love poured out. Every meal you cooked, every tear you wiped, every silent sacrifice you made is written in His book with MORE honor than any achievement the world celebrates.
