"If my mom miscarried, it means God didn't protect the baby or something's wrong with her"
How it sounds in your head: Mom looked so empty after it happened. People said 'it's God's will' or 'maybe something was wrong with the baby' and I saw her face break. Dad tried to be strong but I heard him crying in the garage. I feel angry but don't know who to be angry at.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Source: Religious justification of tragedy as God's secret plan, making God the author of death rather than the enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy
The baby died and God didn't stop it, so either He couldn't or He chose not to - both options feel terrible. Well-meaning church people said it was 'His will' which makes God sound cruel.
Her promised son died suddenly as a child - she refused to accept it, saying 'It is well' even with a dead son at home. Elisha prayed and the boy came back to life INSTANTLY - proving God's heart is always resurrection, never death.
I REFUSE the lie that God took my sibling or orchestrated miscarriage as some mysterious plan. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy - NOT Jesus. Jesus came to give LIFE abundantly. My mom's body is NOT cursed or broken - she is Abraham's seed through Christ, blessed coming in and going out. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes we are healed - that includes every reproductive system, every womb, every seed. I decree LIFE over every future pregnancy in our family. The enemy will NOT steal another seed. Greater is He in us than the spirit of death in the world.
The Father is NOT the one who took the baby - He's the one weeping with your mom, angry at death, ready to restore what the enemy stole. He's already running toward your family with healing, with more children, with resurrection life that swallows up every loss.
