"I'm too young to think about this, so I should just be scared and wait."
How it sounds in your head: Adults keep saying 'don't worry about that yet' but then I hear worried conversations about fertility and problems. So should I be scared? Should I not think about it? I'm confused and just feel anxious with nowhere to put it.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
-- Proverbs 3:5-6Dismissal of legitimate questions causing anxiety to fester in darkness rather than being brought to light and truth.
Adults dismiss her questions about her body and future while simultaneously having worried conversations she overhears. The mixed messages create confusion and anxiety with no outlet.
Miriam was a young girl—probably 10-12 years old—when she boldly approached Pharaoh's daughter and arranged for Moses to be saved and nursed by his own mother. Her youth didn't disqualify her courage or God's use of her!
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too young to receive truth about my future! IT IS WRITTEN that I should trust the Lord with ALL my heart—I can trust Him NOW about my future. I don't have to carry anxiety! IT IS WRITTEN 'let no one despise your youth'—my age doesn't disqualify me from God's promises or peace. I acknowledge Him in ALL my ways, including my questions about the future, and He WILL direct my path. I stand on the BARAK blessing that operated on Isaac when he was BORN—covenant promises don't wait for adulthood. I am BLESSED NOW with a blessed future!
The Father is running toward you with answers, not dismissal. He doesn't think you're too young to talk to Him about your future—He LOVES that you're bringing it to Him now, and He's surrounding that future with peace, not fear.
