"If I'm not healed, it's because I have unforgiven sin blocking God's blessing."
How it sounds in your head: They told me at church that I need to search my heart and confess every sin before God will heal me. But what if I can't remember them all? What if there's some hidden sin I don't even know about? Maybe that's why I'm still sick—something I did wrong is blocking my healing.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you ALL trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Religious works-based theology importing Old Covenant barriers into New Covenant grace, making healing conditional on perfect confession.
She's heard James 5:16 about confessing faults and been taught healing requires a clean slate, creating an impossible performance standard since nobody remembers every sin.
His friends lowered him through a roof to get to Jesus. Jesus' FIRST words were 'Son, your sins are forgiven,' THEN 'Rise, take up your bed and walk.' He got forgiveness and healing in the same breath without a single confession, examination, or timeline—just immediate grace meeting immediate need. Both came INSTANTLY, not progressively.
I REFUSE the lie that hidden sin blocks my healing! IT IS WRITTEN that God has forgiven me ALL trespasses, past, present, future, remembered and forgotten. The blood of Jesus cleanses me from ALL sin, and there is NOW no condemnation. I am not waiting to GET clean enough for healing; I AM the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. The BARAK blessing covered liars, deceivers, and murderers in the Old Covenant; how much MORE does Christ's blood cover me in the BETTER covenant? IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are new EVERY morning. I receive my healing NOW, not because my confession is perfect, but because HIS BLOOD is perfect.
Your Father isn't playing hide-and-seek with your sins, waiting for you to find them all before He'll heal you. He's the Father who threw a party for the prodigal before the kid even finished his 'I have sinned' speech. The blood covers what you can't remember, and healing flows from HIS faithfulness, not your perfect memory.
