"If I'd been more faithful with money, God would have blessed me like them."
How it sounds in your head: They tithed perfectly, budgeted wisely, honored God with their finances. You were inconsistent, messy, imperfect. This financial difference is the PROOF of their faithfulness versus your failure. God rewards their stewardship, withholds from yours.
"And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work."
-- Romans 11:6Religion teaching that blessing is earned through financial faithfulness, not given through covenant grace.
You can remember the tithes you missed, the financial decisions that dishonored God, the times you didn't trust Him with money. Their discipline versus your inconsistency seems like obvious cause and effect.
Zero tithes, zero faithfulness, zero stewardship - a criminal dying for his crimes. Jesus didn't say 'if you'd managed money better you could have paradise.' He said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise' - instant, full access to Kingdom benefits based on GRACE alone.
I REFUSE the lie that blessing is earned through financial faithfulness. IT IS WRITTEN that if by grace, it is NO LONGER of works, otherwise grace is not grace. Abraham LIED and got richer - the BARAK is covenant, not performance. My financial blessing is based on CHRIST'S faithfulness, not mine. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in Deuteronomy 28 because I am IN CHRIST, not because I tithed perfectly. The thief on the cross got paradise with zero stewardship - PURE GRACE. I stand in that same scandalous grace at ninety-plus. My Provider is not grading my financial report card.
Father doesn't hand you the robe AFTER you prove financial faithfulness - He puts it on you while you still smell like pig pens and blown inheritance. Your access to provision is based on HIS nature, not your track record.
