"If I were truly born again, I wouldn't still struggle with this"

How it sounds in your head: Christians aren't supposed to have these problems. If I was really saved and Jesus really lived in me, this wouldn't still be an issue. Maybe I'm not actually born again if I still deal with this.

1 John 3:1

"Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him."

-- 1 John 3:1
Enemy whispers: Real Christians don't struggle - you must not truly be saved. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: 1 John 3:1 - Behold what manner of love that we SHOULD BE CALLED CHILDREN OF GOD. Not 'perfect performance' - CHILDREN. Children stumble learning to walk but they're STILL CHILDREN. Paul struggled with doing what he didn't want (Romans 7) and was still the greatest apostle. Your struggle doesn't disqualify your salvation - you're a DAUGHTER learning to walk in victory.
Quick Truth: LIE: Struggle = not truly saved. TRUTH: Called children of God by His love, not perfection (1 Jn 3:1). Paul struggled (Rom 7) - still apostle.

Religion's false doctrine that salvation equals instant behavior perfection, making ongoing struggles evidence of fake faith instead of normal sanctification while already justified.

Why this feels true:

She hears testimonies of instant deliverance and pastors preach that old things passed away, making continued struggles feel like proof her salvation isn't real. She confuses positional righteousness with progressive sanctification.

Romans 7:15-25
Apostle Paul

Wrote most of the New Testament, had encounters with Jesus, yet STILL wrote 'the good I want to do I don't do, and the evil I don't want to do, this I keep doing' - ongoing struggle didn't disqualify his salvation or apostleship. He was simultaneously saint and struggling human in process.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that struggles disqualify my salvation. IT IS WRITTEN I am CALLED a CHILD OF GOD because of His love, not my perfection. Paul himself struggled with doing what he didn't want while writing Scripture - struggle doesn't mean unsaved. IT IS WRITTEN there is NOW no condemnation for those in Christ. I am not my performance; I am His DAUGHTER. The Abrahamic BARAK covered Abraham's lies and Jacob's deceptions - they were covenant sons in their mess. I am BORN AGAIN, BLOOD-BOUGHT, SEALED by the Spirit, learning to walk in the victory already mine.

But God actually:

The Father isn't questioning your salvation because you struggle - He's calling you BELOVED DAUGHTER while you're still learning, just like you called your first word 'mama' even though it came out wrong. You're not a fake Christian; you're a real daughter growing in grace.
