"If I was really anointed, ministry wouldn't be this hard and draining."
How it sounds in your head: You see other leaders who seem energized. It flows for them. For you, it's grinding. Every sermon is a battle. Every counseling session drains you. Maybe you're in the wrong calling. Maybe you're not actually anointed. If this were God's will, it wouldn't be this hard.
"We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed."
-- 2 Corinthians 4:8-9Source: Prosperity teaching that says anointing equals ease, ignoring biblical pattern of anointed people facing massive opposition.
Ministry genuinely is exhausting you. Other people seem to thrive in what's killing you. The struggle feels like evidence you're not called or equipped.
Paul listed his résumé: beaten, shipwrecked, stoned, imprisoned, sleepless, hungry. The most anointed apostle had the hardest ministry. Yet he called it 'light affliction' because of the GLORY it produced - perspective shift, not circumstance change.
I REFUSE the lie that anointing equals ease. IT IS WRITTEN that Paul was hard-pressed, perplexed, and struck down - yet NOT destroyed. Jesus was anointed with the Spirit without measure and ended on a CROSS. Difficulty is not evidence of wrong calling; it's evidence I'm DANGEROUS to the enemy. IT IS WRITTEN in John 16:33 that in this world I WILL have tribulation, but Jesus has overcome. I declare the anointing doesn't remove opposition - it empowers me THROUGH it. I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me.
The Father sees every hard moment and isn't disappointed in your struggle - He's proud you're still standing. Like Jesus in Gethsemane, sweating blood yet still anointed, your hardship doesn't negate His calling; it proves you're exactly where you're supposed to be.
