"If I was more disciplined with food, every other area of my life would be better"
How it sounds in your head: My eating habits are why I'm failing everywhere else. If I could just master food discipline, my grades, my relationships, my future would all fall into place.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
-- Matthew 6:33False gospel making food discipline the key to life success, creating works-based salvation through dieting.
It feels like the one variable you can control, and every success guru preaches that discipline in one area spreads to all areas. It seems logical.
Paul had MORE religious discipline than anyone - faultless concerning the law, circumcised the eighth day, a Pharisee. He counted it all as RUBBISH compared to knowing Christ. Discipline didn't save him - grace did. He found everything through Christ, not through mastering behaviors.
I REFUSE the lie that food discipline is the key to life success. IT IS WRITTEN that I must seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added. My breakthrough comes from abiding in the Vine, not mastering behaviors. IT IS WRITTEN that without Christ I can do nothing, but IN Him I bear much fruit automatically. I am not saved by discipline but by grace. Paul counted all his religious mastery as rubbish compared to knowing Jesus. The BARAK blessing flows from COVENANT, not from calorie control. I am blessed because I am His.
Your Father isn't withholding breakthrough in every area until you prove yourself with food discipline. He's offering you connection to the Vine where ALL fruit grows naturally, without striving.
