"If I truly understood how much damage I caused, I couldn't forgive myself."
How it sounds in your head: You still don't fully grasp the ripple effects of your choices. When you really understand how many people you hurt, how deeply the wounds go, how long the consequences will last—forgiveness will be impossible. Ignorance is the only thing allowing you to even consider forgiving yourself.
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
-- Psalm 103:12Enemy suggesting that full knowledge of sin's impact makes forgiveness impossible, contradicting that God knows ALL and still forgives completely.
You keep discovering new layers of damage from your past choices, and each revelation makes forgiveness feel more distant. You assume complete awareness would crush you.
His adultery led to murder, death of the child, sword never departing his house, rape and murder among his children, civil war. God knew ALL the consequences before David did—the ripples lasted generations. Yet when David said 'I have sinned,' God said IMMEDIATELY, 'The Lord has put away your sin.'
I REFUSE the lie that full knowledge would make forgiveness impossible. IT IS WRITTEN that God has removed my transgressions as far as east is from west—and HE knows the complete damage better than I ever will. If God, with perfect knowledge, forgives completely, who am I to demand higher standards than He does? The BARAK blessing covered Jacob knowing FULL WELL he'd deceived his blind father—God saw it all and still blessed him. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are new every morning, and His grace is sufficient for ALL my sin, not just the parts I can quantify. I am forgiven. Period. Full stop. The Father knows everything and loves me anyway.
The Father sees the complete picture—past, present, and future consequences—and He STILL runs toward you with the robe. His forgiveness isn't based on partial information; it's based on complete knowledge and perfect love.
