"If I take thyroid medication, I'm not believing God for supernatural healing"
How it sounds in your head: I prayed for months before finally going to the doctor. Now I'm on Synthroid daily, and it feels like I gave up. Did I stop believing too soon? Should I have fasted longer, prayed harder?
"Then Isaiah said, 'Take a lump of figs.' So they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered."
-- 2 Kings 20:7Religious teaching that supernatural and natural healing are mutually exclusive, creating false hierarchy
She's seen healing testimonies where people threw away medicine, and now her daily pill feels like a monument to unbelief. Every swallow feels like choosing science over God.
Hezekiah received a word from God through Isaiah that he would be healed, then Isaiah immediately prescribed a medicinal fig poultice. The prophet of God used natural medicine as part of supernatural healing without contradiction.
I REFUSE the lie that medicine opposes faith. IT IS WRITTEN that Isaiah prescribed natural remedies for Hezekiah while prophesying his healing. My thyroid medication is not evidence I stopped believing—it's evidence God is faithful to provide wisdom through endocrinology. IT IS WRITTEN that God works all things together for good, including the pharmaceutical breakthrough that stabilizes my hormones. I am not disqualified from supernatural healing because I take daily medication. The BARAK blessing doesn't distinguish between miraculous and medical—both flow from the same gracious Father who wants me well.
Father handed you that prescription with the same love He'd use to heal you instantly. He's not disappointed you're taking medicine—He's delighted you're receiving the provision He made available through human knowledge, and He can still heal you miraculously tomorrow if He chooses.
