"If I retire, I won't be able to keep giving to God's work and helping my family."

How it sounds in your head: You've always been the one who helps—sends money to grandkids, supports missionaries, covers emergencies for your adult children. If you retire and live on less, you'll have to stop being generous. You'll become the burden instead of the helper. That terrifies you.

2 Corinthians 9:8

"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."

-- 2 Corinthians 9:8
Enemy whispers: 'Your generosity days are over. You'll have to stop giving. God's work will suffer because of your retirement.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: 2 Corinthians 9:8—'God is ABLE to make ALL grace ABOUND toward you, that you, ALWAYS having ALL sufficiency in ALL things, may have an ABUNDANCE for EVERY good work.' Count the 'alls'—there's no retirement clause. The widow gave her last two mites and Jesus called it 'more than all.' God doesn't need your paycheck—He multiplies whatever you have in surrender.
Quick Truth: LIE: I can't give in retirement. TRUTH: God gives you abundance for EVERY good work—always, all, every. (2 Cor 9:8)

Religious lie that God's work depends on your income level and that His supply will dry up when your paycheck does.

Why this feels true:

Your giving has always come from earned income. You calculate what you give now versus what you'll have on retirement income—there's a gap. You've built your identity around being able to help, and losing that feels like losing purpose.

Mark 12:41-44
Widow with two mites

A widow on fixed income—literally her 'last' money—gave two copper coins worth almost nothing. Jesus said she gave MORE than all the wealthy donors combined because God measures differently. Her poverty didn't disqualify her generosity—it showcased God's kingdom math.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that retirement means the end of my generosity or God's supply. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes ALL grace abound toward me so I ALWAYS have ALL sufficiency for EVERY good work—no paycheck required. My giving isn't sourced from my salary but from my Father's supply. IT IS WRITTEN in Malachi 3:10 He opens the windows of heaven and pours out blessing I can't contain—that's present tense, retirement or not. The barak on my life doesn't retire when I do. I am blessed to be a blessing, and that flows from HIS riches, not my 401k. Oil multiplies in the widow's jar. Fish multiply in Peter's net. My generosity continues because HE is my Source.

But God actually:

The Father isn't worried about funding His kingdom when you retire—He's about to show you that He provides FOR you AND THROUGH you even when you're 'off the clock.' Your value isn't your paycheck; it's your position as His beloved daughter, already seated in heavenly places.
