"If I really believed God would heal me, I wouldn't need these prescriptions."
How it sounds in your head: Every pill feels like a vote against God's power. I hear testimonies of people who threw away their meds and were healed, and I wonder why I can't have that faith. Maybe I'm the problem.
"Is there no balm in Gilead, Is there no physician there? Why then is there no recovery For the health of the daughter of My people?"
-- Jeremiah 8:22Religious performance pressure that makes God's healing contingent on your faith levels instead of His nature.
You've heard stories of miraculous healings where people stopped all medication, and you feel like second-class faith because you still need yours. The guilt builds every time you refill a prescription.
God miraculously added 15 years to Hezekiah's life, but Isaiah also applied a medicinal fig poultice to his boil. Miracle AND medicine worked together—God didn't choose one or the other.
I REFUSE the lie that prescriptions contradict faith. IT IS WRITTEN that God Himself asked why people weren't using the balm and physicians available to them. My Father works through doctors, medicine, AND miracles—sometimes all at once. I'm not stuck choosing between faith and wisdom; I embrace both. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I am healed, and that healing can come instantly, gradually, or through medical intervention. I am blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing, including the blessing of modern medicine that helps me function in the abundant life Jesus came to give.
Your Father isn't testing whether you'll choose Him over medicine—He PROVIDED the medicine. He's not waiting for you to prove your faith by suffering needlessly. He's already running toward you with healing in His wings AND prescription in hand.
