"If I prosper while others struggle, it proves I'm selfish and don't care about people."
How it sounds in your head: There are homeless people, kids without food, people losing their houses. If I have nice things while they're suffering, what does that say about me? Maybe I'm just a terrible person who only thinks about myself.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Enemy accusation that abundance equals apathy, weaponizing compassion into condemnation.
He genuinely cares about hurting people and the enemy twists that compassion into guilt. He thinks the only way to prove he cares is to suffer WITH them instead of being positioned to HELP them.
Widow had only enough for one last meal before starvation. Elijah said feed me FIRST - sounds selfish, but obedience triggered the miracle. Her jar of flour and jug of oil never ran empty for YEARS. She fed her household AND the prophet because abundance came FIRST.
I REFUSE the lie that my prosperity proves I don't care about others. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives me abundance FOR EVERY GOOD WORK. I can't help the poor if I'm poor. I can't bless the hurting if I'm empty. IT IS WRITTEN that I will lend to many nations - that requires having something TO lend. My Father loads me daily with benefits NOT so I can hoard them but so I can be a RIVER, not a reservoir. The BARAK blessing flows THROUGH me to water everyone downstream. Abraham's blessing came to the Gentiles through Christ - blessing always SPREADS. I receive abundance guilt-free because it's the TOOL for my assignment, not the EVIDENCE of my selfishness. Blessed to BE a blessing.
Your Father is running toward you with storehouses full, not because you've earned it but because He's positioning you to be a distribution center for His goodness. He's celebrating your willingness to receive SO you can release.
