"If I prosper financially, I'll become materialistic, greedy, or lose my dependence on God."
How it sounds in your head: Money changes people. I've seen Christians get blessed and drift from God. Maybe it's safer to stay in lack where I'm forced to pray. If I had financial security, would I still need Him? Better to stay humble.
"And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
-- Deuteronomy 8:18Source: religion demonizing money and teaching poverty as humility, making God-dependence contingent on lack instead of relationship.
The love of money verses get twisted into money being evil. Every wealthy person seems to have spiritual drift. Poverty feels spiritually safe while prosperity feels dangerous.
Called the father of faith, friend of God, walked intimately with the Lord. Also 'very rich in livestock, silver, and gold'—extreme wealth didn't compromise his relationship with God.
I REFUSE the lie that prosperity will make me materialistic or distant from God. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives power to get wealth to ESTABLISH His covenant. Abraham was extremely wealthy and God's friend. I am a BRANCH attached to the VINE—I cannot produce bad fruit while connected to Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing makes me the head not the tail, lender not borrower—wealth is part of covenant. Money is a tool in my hand to establish God's kingdom, not a trap to distance me. I receive abundance NOW while walking closely with my Father.
Your Father isn't withholding wealth to protect your spirituality—He's preparing to entrust you with abundance because you're His branch, producing His fruit. Wealth in your hands establishes His covenant, not your ego.
