"If I just had more faith, my anxiety and depression would disappear."
How it sounds in your head: Other Christians seem to trust God better than me. They don't have panic attacks. My anxiety must mean my faith is weak. If I truly believed, I'd have peace.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Source: Faith-as-works teaching that measures belief by emotional outcomes rather than Christ's finished work.
Philippians 4:6-7 promises peace that passes understanding, but she's still anxious. The gap between promise and experience feels like proof her faith is defective.
Thomas doubted the resurrection, demanded physical proof, and said 'I will not believe.' Jesus didn't rebuke him - He SHOWED UP specifically for Thomas's doubt, invited him to touch the scars, and still called him to apostleship. Doubt didn't disqualify him.
I REFUSE the lie that my anxiety proves weak faith. IT IS WRITTEN a father with mixed belief still got his miracle - Jesus honors MUSTARD SEED faith. My mental health isn't a faith report card. IT IS WRITTEN I am the righteousness of God in Christ by GIFT, not by perfect emotions. The BARAK blessing flows even when I'm anxious. I am Abraham's seed, accepted with small faith, held through doubt, loved completely NOW.
The Father is showing up in your anxiety like Jesus appeared FOR Thomas's doubt. He's not measuring your faith-to-peace ratio - He's holding you through the panic and calling you beloved WITH the struggle.
