"If I have money while others suffer, I'm selfish and not really walking in love."
How it sounds in your head: Every time I spend on something nice for myself or my family, guilt whispers that I should have given it away. How can I enjoy anything when there's so much need? Maybe having margin means I'm hoarding instead of being generous like I should be.
"And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
-- Deuteronomy 8:18Religion weaponized compassion to create poverty mindsets, making provision feel like sin instead of seeing it as the SOURCE for generosity.
You see poverty statistics and missionary appeals and feel like enjoying your life is somehow taking from others. The church has made you feel guilty for every blessing instead of celebrating that blessed people can BE a blessing.
She was a 'notable woman' with means who built a room for Elisha—her wealth enabled her generosity. God didn't rebuke her prosperity; He gave her the son she never had as reward for her giving FROM abundance.
I REFUSE the lie that my provision makes me selfish. IT IS WRITTEN: God gives me power to get wealth to establish His covenant. I am blessed to BE a blessing. The BARAK blessing flows through me like it did Abraham—not to hoard, but to OVERFLOW. My abundance is the SOURCE of my generosity, not the enemy of it. IT IS WRITTEN: I will lend to many nations and borrow from none. I am the head, not the tail. Above only, not beneath. I receive without guilt and give without lack. My Father delights in prospering me so His purposes flow through me.
Your Father isn't frowning at your blessings—He's celebrating them because HE provided them. He's not waiting for you to apologize for having; He's inviting you to receive MORE so you can give MORE, all from rest, not striving.
