"If I had more faith, God would actually answer my prayers and my life wouldn't be falling apart."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone else seems to get miracles but me. I must not believe hard enough. When I doubt for even a second, I ruin everything. If I was a better Christian, God would show up.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Religion teaching faith as a work you perform to manipulate God's hand, making you the source instead of Christ.
You see other people post answered prayers on Instagram while yours seem ignored. Every time doubt creeps in, you blame yourself for not being strong enough to keep God interested.
Thomas doubted the resurrection for a full week, saying he wouldn't believe unless he touched Jesus' wounds. Jesus appeared specifically for Thomas, invited him to touch, and called him blessed - never once calling him 'faithless' or withholding because of doubt.
I REFUSE the lie that my faith strength determines God's response. IT IS WRITTEN that a father with unbelief still received his son's healing. My confidence is in Christ's FINISHED work, not my ability to muster belief. IT IS WRITTEN there is no condemnation for me in Christ Jesus - that includes condemning myself for honest doubt. I am Abraham's seed, heir according to PROMISE, not according to my faith performance. The BARAK blessing flows through covenant, not concentration. I am the righteousness of God in Christ whether I feel faith or feel doubt.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to work up enough belief before He moves. He's already running toward you with the answer, and your honest cry 'help my unbelief' is MORE beautiful to Him than religious people's performance faith.
