"If I had faith like the people in the Bible, miracles would happen in my life too."
How it sounds in your head: I read about people in the Bible seeing crazy miracles—parting seas, healing the sick, raising the dead. Nothing like that happens in my life. Maybe that level of faith doesn't exist anymore, or maybe I'm just not spiritual enough to experience what they did.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
-- Hebrews 13:8Source: Cessationist teaching that miracles ended with the apostles, or prosperity teaching that makes miracles conditional on achieving 'Bible character' level faith.
When you compare your normal life to the dramatic stories in Scripture, the gap feels enormous. You pray for your sick grandma and she doesn't get healed like in the Bible stories, making it seem like either those miracles aren't for today or your faith is too weak.
An unnamed woman, not a prophet or priest, just sick and desperate for 12 years—she touched Jesus' garment in a crowd and was IMMEDIATELY healed. Jesus said 'your faith has made you well'—ordinary person, instant breakthrough, simple touch.
I REFUSE the lie that biblical miracles were for special people and not for me. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus is the SAME yesterday, today, and forever—His power and willingness to move hasn't changed or diminished for today. Jesus promised I would do GREATER WORKS than He did (John 14:12)—not lesser, not conditional on achieving Bible character level faith. IT IS WRITTEN that an unnamed woman received instant healing just by touching His garment—miracles flow from HIS NATURE, not from my spiritual resume. I am Abraham's seed by covenant, an heir of the BARAK blessing that includes supernatural provision and protection. My Father is the God of suddenly, the God of instant breakthrough, and He doesn't play favorites between Bible characters and me.
Your Father hasn't retired from the miracle business—He's the SAME God who parted seas, and He's running toward you NOW with the same power, the same willingness, the same instant breakthrough available. You're not disqualified by era or by your spiritual resume—you're qualified by COVENANT, and He's ready to move in your life just like He did in theirs.
