"If I had faith like the heroes in the Bible, I'd see miracles"
How it sounds in your head: Moses parted seas. Elijah called down fire. I can barely believe for a parking spot. I'm not in their league. Miracles are for spiritual giants, not ordinary women like me.
"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months"
-- James 5:17Superhuman mythology around biblical figures that erases their humanity and your qualification
Sunday School presented them as flawless faith champions while she knows her own internal chaos. She assumes they had something she lacks—special DNA, better prayer life, stronger belief.
Right after calling fire from heaven and executing 450 prophets, Elijah ran in terror from one woman's threat and begged God to kill him under a tree—same man, massive mood swing. God sent angels with food instead of rebuke.
I REFUSE the lie that miracles require superhuman faith I don't possess. IT IS WRITTEN that Elijah had a nature LIKE MINE—he called fire, then cowered in depression. I am not straining to become a spiritual giant; I am BRANCH connected to the VINE, and HIS power flows through ordinary branches. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that His strength is made PERFECT in weakness—not in achieved spiritual status. Abraham the liar received the BARAK blessing that covers me now through Galatians 3:14. My qualification is CHRIST, not my faith performance.
The Father isn't comparing your faith to biblical heroes—He's looking at you through the lens of Jesus' perfect faith credited to your account. The prodigal didn't need hero-level faith to receive the robe; he just needed to turn toward home.
