"If I had enough faith, I wouldn't struggle with depression and anxiety"
How it sounds in your head: Everyone at church seems so happy and put-together. I'm scrolling through worship posts while I can barely get out of bed. If I really believed God, I wouldn't feel this way. There's something fundamentally broken in my faith.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religion taught that mental health struggles equal spiritual failure, making brain chemistry a measure of devotion.
She sees other Christians posting victory posts while she's in therapy. The silence around mental health in church makes her think she's the only one failing this badly.
After his greatest victory, Elijah was so depressed he asked to die and slept under a tree. God didn't rebuke him for lack of faith—He sent an angel with food, let him sleep, and spoke gently after he rested.
I REFUSE the lie that my mental health struggle disqualifies me from God's presence. IT IS WRITTEN that His grace is sufficient and His strength is perfected in my weakness. I am not too broken, too anxious, or too depressed for His love. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus. The BARAK blessing over my life doesn't lift when my serotonin drops. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, even on days I can't feel it.
The Father isn't waiting for you to fix your brain chemistry before He runs to you. He's already running, holding both therapy AND supernatural peace, because He loves the whole you—broken brain and all.
