"If I had better health habits, I wouldn't be in pain. This is my own fault."
How it sounds in your head: I should have taken better care of myself—better diet, more exercise, less stress. Other guys my age who prioritized health aren't dealing with this. I earned this pain through neglect.
"For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, says the Lord."
-- Jeremiah 30:17Self-condemnation and worldly cause-effect thinking that makes pain a deserved consequence and blocks receiving grace-based healing.
You can trace decisions—late nights, fast food, skipped workouts—and build a case for self-inflicted suffering. Health culture screams that bodies are DIY projects, making pain feel like the grade you earned on the test you didn't study for.
Wasted entire inheritance on reckless living, made every wrong choice, caused his own disaster through pure negligence and stupidity. Father didn't say 'well, you earned this pig pen.' He RAN to him, kissed him, restored him FULLY—ring, robe, sandals, party—immediate, complete, zero lectures about better life choices required.
I REFUSE the lie that past negligence disqualifies present healing. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE health and heal wounds—no asterisk for self-inflicted cases. His healing is GRACE, not grading. IT IS WRITTEN in Jeremiah 30:17 that the Lord Himself does the restoring. The prodigal earned pig-pen consequences but received party-level restoration—that's my Father. The BARAK blessed Abraham after LYING twice—covenant, not conduct. I'm in Christ. My habits don't determine His healing nature. I receive restoration NOW, regardless of yesterday's choices. Health, BE RESTORED.
The Father isn't reviewing your health report card before deciding if you qualify—He's running toward you with healing in His hands while you still smell like fast food and missed workouts, celebrating the wholeness He's giving you RIGHT NOW.
