"God is using this pain to teach me something I'm too stubborn to learn otherwise."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I'm being punished for something. Maybe God's trying to get my attention and I keep missing it. If I could just figure out the LESSON, maybe the pain would stop. What am I not learning?
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Religious lie that makes God the author of suffering and pain a divine curriculum rather than an enemy attack.
This is what he's heard in church—'God's trying to tell you something,' 'Don't waste your suffering.' It gives pain PURPOSE, which feels better than random chaos, but makes God cruel.
Disciples asked: 'Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus said: 'NEITHER—this happened so God's works could be displayed.' It wasn't punishment or lesson—it was setup for GLORY. Then Jesus healed him IMMEDIATELY.
I REFUSE the lie that God authors my pain to teach me lessons. IT IS WRITTEN: 'The thief comes to steal, kill, destroy. I came to give life abundantly.' There are TWO kingdoms—one brings pain, one brings LIFE. My Father doesn't need to break me to teach me; He sent His SPIRIT to lead me into all truth. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father'—pain isn't good, so it's not FROM Him. I stop searching for lessons in attacks and start declaring VICTORY over the enemy's schemes.
The Father isn't hiding secret lessons inside your pain, waiting for you to decode them. He's not that father. He's the one who said 'I've come to give you ABUNDANT LIFE'—and then proved it by healing everyone who asked, no lessons required.
