"If I eat that, I'll gain weight and everyone will notice and judge me."
How it sounds in your head: I can't eat that cookie in front of people. They'll think I'm gross. They'll watch me get fatter. I have to eat 'good' foods in public or they'll judge me for my body.
"For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ."
-- Galatians 1:10The spirit of fear of man, combined with body surveillance trauma from comments and stares.
Adults HAVE commented on what she eats ('should you be eating that?'). People DO stare. She's internalized being watched and monitored constantly.
Daniel refused the king's rich food (others would have judged him as 'weird' or 'ungrateful'), ate vegetables and water instead, and after ten days looked HEALTHIER than everyone else. God honored his conviction, not their opinion.
I REFUSE the lie that I have to manage my eating based on other people's judgment. IT IS WRITTEN that if I seek to please men, I'm not a bondservant of Christ. Their opinions do not govern my body. Their stares do not dictate my choices. IT IS WRITTEN that the fear of man is a SNARE, but trusting the Lord is SAFETY. I am safe in Him, not in their approval. I eat with thanksgiving, in freedom, answerable to God alone. I am blessed in my basket - not cursed by their commentary.
Right now, your Father is saying, 'I'm the only audience that matters. Eat with joy. Receive My provision with thanksgiving. Let them watch - you're watching ME, and I'm smiling at you with delight, not judgment.'
