"If I don't have a ministry title, I don't have purpose or value."
How it sounds in your head: Your name is in the bulletin. You're introduced as a leader. People know you. When you're not on a team or holding a position, you feel like you're nobody. Your purpose is tied to your role. Without a ministry badge, you're just another face in the crowd with nothing to offer.
"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."
-- 1 Peter 2:9Identity theft—replacing 'beloved daughter' with 'ministry position.'
The church celebrates titles and positions. You get recognition when you serve. When you're not serving, you feel invisible and purposeless. Your sense of meaning comes from what you DO, not who you ARE.
Martha was busy serving—doing ministry—while Mary just sat at Jesus' feet. Martha complained that Mary wasn't helping. Jesus said Mary chose the GOOD PART. Mary had no title, no role, no task—just PRESENCE with Jesus. And Jesus said THAT was better than all of Martha's doing.
I REFUSE the lie that my purpose comes from a ministry position. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a CHOSEN generation, a ROYAL priesthood—my identity comes from HEAVEN, not a church bulletin. My purpose isn't tied to a title—it's tied to HIM. IT IS WRITTEN that I am His WORKMANSHIP, created for good works that He prepared beforehand. Those works aren't limited to church roles. I am under the BARAK blessing—blessed not because of what I DO but because of WHOSE I am. I receive my identity as daughter and release the need for a badge to prove my worth.
Your Father doesn't see you through the lens of ministry titles. He sees you as His CHOSEN, ROYAL, HOLY daughter. Like Mary of Bethany, your greatest offering isn't your doing—it's your BEING with Him. He's running toward you with the identity that matters: BELOVED. No position required.
