"If I can't prove Christianity is true, I should stop believing until I figure it all out."
How it sounds in your head: Smart people need evidence. I can't defend my faith in arguments yet, so maybe I shouldn't claim to believe. I need to wait until I'm smarter and can prove everything.
"If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know whether the doctrine is from God or whether I speak on My own authority."
-- John 7:17World system teaching that faith requires comprehensive intellectual proof before belief, opposite of biblical faith.
His atheist friend asks questions he can't answer, making him feel stupid. The world says 'prove it or it's fake,' and he doesn't have all the proof yet.
Gideon asked God for proof twice—the fleece wet then dry, then dry then wet—because he doubted. God didn't rebuke him but patiently PROVIDED THE PROOF both times, then used him mightily to save Israel with just 300 men!
I REFUSE the lie that I need perfect understanding before I can believe! IT IS WRITTEN that if I'm willing to do God's will, I'll KNOW the truth experientially. My willingness to seek IS the evidence that God is drawing me! IT IS WRITTEN that faith comes by hearing, and I'm hearing right now. I don't need to defend every doctrine perfectly—Jesus Himself is the proof, and He's alive in me. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with faithful Abraham, and the BARAK protects my seeking heart. The Father celebrates my honest journey!
The Father isn't waiting for you to have all the answers before He accepts you. He's already accepted you and will GIVE you the answers as you walk with Him, not before.
