"If I actually trusted God, I wouldn't struggle with insomnia; this is proof my faith is weak."
How it sounds in your head: Strong Christians sleep in peace. You're lying awake at 3 AM which means your faith is theoretical, not real. If you really trusted Him, your body would reflect it. Every sleepless night is a faith report card and you're failing. Other believers don't wrestle like this—this is what happens when your theology doesn't reach your nervous system.
"But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, 'Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?' Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace, be still!' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, 'Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?'"
-- Mark 4:38-40Religion—faith measured by symptoms, making physical struggles evidence of spiritual failure.
The Bible talks about peace and rest, and you objectively don't have it. The gap between what you believe in your head and what your body experiences at night feels like exposed hypocrisy. Faith is supposed to produce fruit, and sleeplessness feels like rotten fruit.
The disciples were terrified, accused Jesus of not caring, genuinely thought they were dying—their faith looked terrible in that moment. Jesus didn't kick them out of the boat for weak faith; He REBUKED THE STORM and saved them anyway.
I REFUSE the lie that my insomnia measures my faith. IT IS WRITTEN that the disciples panicked in the storm and Jesus saved them ANYWAY—He rebuked the STORM, not just their fear. My struggle doesn't disqualify me from His peace. Jesus speaks 'Peace, be still' to my sleeplessness regardless of how strong I feel. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ—none for my panic, none for my wrestling. The BARAK blessing covered Abraham when his faith looked terrible; it covers me now. I declare my sleep is based on HIS FAITHFULNESS, not my perfect faith, and He is speaking PEACE BE STILL over every restless night RIGHT NOW.
The Father doesn't measure your faith by your sleep—He speaks peace over your storm while you're still panicking, just like Jesus did for terrified disciples. The robe comes before you feel peaceful.
