"I wasted my life in ministry while losing my own children's souls."
How it sounds in your head: I preached to thousands, counseled hundreds, built churches—and my own kids want nothing to do with God. What's the point? I should have stayed home, been there more, chosen them over the calling. Now it's too late.
"And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse."
-- Malachi 4:6Enemy: Uses the 'what profit to gain the world and lose your soul' verse weaponized against ministry to create crushing regret.
You can count the people you led to Christ while your own children mock Christianity. The math feels like a devastating trade—souls for your own family.
God called Hosea to marry a prostitute and name his kids 'Not My People' and 'No Mercy' as prophetic ministry—using his FAMILY as the sermon. Yet God promised to restore them ALL, turning 'Not My People' into 'Sons of the Living God' instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that ministry cost me my children's souls. IT IS WRITTEN that God WILL turn the hearts of children to fathers—not 'might have if you'd chosen differently,' but WILL. Hosea's family WAS the ministry, and God still restored them. IT IS WRITTEN that He WILL save my children—present tense promise, not past tense regret. The BARAK blessing doesn't punish obedience to calling; Abraham left his father's house and was blessed generationally. My obedience to God's call doesn't disqualify His promise to my family. He's faithful to both.
The Father didn't trick you into ministry at your family's expense—He's big enough to honor your obedience AND pursue your children. The same God who called you is running after them, and your yes to Him doesn't mean no to them.
