"I wasn't the gender they wanted. I'm a disappointment from birth."
How it sounds in your head: They wanted a boy and got a girl, or vice versa. Maybe they told you. Maybe you just KNOW by the way they compare you to cousins or sibling preferences or comments about 'if you'd been a boy.' Your gender feels like the first thing you got wrong.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
-- Galatians 3:28Enemy using gender disappointment to attack core identity and create performance pressure to compensate for wrong anatomy.
You've heard the stories about the name they had picked out for the other gender. You've seen their faces when you didn't fit stereotypes. There's a sibling who IS the preferred gender, and the difference in treatment is OBVIOUS.
Jacob loved Rachel, hated Leah. Leah kept having sons trying to WIN his love through producing the 'right' children. By the fourth son, she stopped trying to earn love and just praised God. That son was JUDAH—the Messianic line. Jesus came through the UNWANTED WIFE's fourth attempt.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm the wrong gender or that I'm a disappointment because I didn't match their preference. IT IS WRITTEN that in Christ there is neither male nor female—my VALUE is not tied to anatomy or their expectations. God made me EXACTLY the gender He intended, and He doesn't make mistakes. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, knit together in the womb with PURPOSE. The BARAK blessing doesn't flow stronger through one gender than another—Abraham's blessing covered male and female alike, and Sarah's faith is honored alongside his. I am not a consolation prize—I am EXACTLY the child God designed, delivered, and DELIGHTS in. My gender is not a flaw—it's part of the MASTERPIECE.
The Father didn't look at the ultrasound and sigh. He celebrated, laughed, and said 'Perfect. THIS is the one I'm sending. Watch what I do through this EXACT child.'
