"I was the other woman once. That sin disqualifies me from being trusted or respected now."
How it sounds in your head: I broke up a marriage. I was that woman. The shame is permanent. Even though I've repented, it follows me. People would be disgusted if they knew. God may forgive but He can't fully use me or trust me after what I did.
"And such WERE some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."
-- 1 Corinthians 6:11Enemy + Religion: Pharisees kept accounts of past sins, but Jesus said 'Neither do I CONDEMN you.'
Adultery is the big one in church culture. You know the pain you caused. You live with the guilt daily. It feels like you branded yourself with a scarlet letter that only God's grace can partially cover but never erase.
Committed adultery with King David, her first husband was murdered to cover it up, the child died. Yet God gave her Solomon who became the wisest king, wrote Scripture, built the Temple, and she became part of Jesus' genealogy - fully restored, fully honored.
I REFUSE the lie that my past adultery permanently disqualifies me. IT IS WRITTEN that such WERE some of you - past tense, washed, sanctified, justified in Jesus' name. The blood of Jesus cleanses from ALL sin, not most sin. Bathsheba committed adultery and became mother to Solomon, writer of Proverbs, part of the Messianic line. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ - not 'less condemnation' or 'permanent stain.' NO. CONDEMNATION. I am BARAK blessed - David committed adultery AND murder yet remained blessed because covenant is stronger than failure. I am TRUSTED, RESPECTED, and RESTORED because of Jesus' blood, not my perfect record.
The Father isn't keeping a file on your worst day. He's written your name in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE in permanent ink. You're not the other woman - you're His BELOVED DAUGHTER, fully clean, fully trusted, fully His.
