"I was foolish with crypto and now my family will suffer for my stupidity."
How it sounds in your head: You fell for the hype. You risked money you couldn't afford to lose. Your spouse trusted you and you gambled it away. You're not a victim—you're an idiot who destroyed your family's security through greed.
"People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house."
-- Proverbs 6:30-31Religion says foolish decisions create permanent consequences and you must live with what you sowed. Self-condemnation agrees with the accuser.
The money is actually gone, your spouse is actually upset, and you actually made the decision against wise counsel. The loss is concrete and your responsibility is undeniable.
He demanded his inheritance early, blew every penny on prostitutes and wild living, ended up feeding pigs and eating their food. The father RAN to him, kissed him while he stank, restored ring and robe, threw a party—full restoration in 15 minutes with no probation period.
I REFUSE the lie that my foolish decision created permanent consequences I must live with forever. IT IS WRITTEN that even a thief caught stealing must receive SEVENFOLD restoration—God's economy multiplies recovery, it doesn't just break even. I am not defined by my worst financial decision; I am defined by Christ's finished work. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. The Father who restored the prodigal who WASTED EVERYTHING is throwing me a party, not a lecture. I am Abraham's seed, the BARAK blessing is mine by covenant, and my family is blessed because I am IN CHRIST. My mistakes don't cancel my covenant.
The Father already knew every foolish decision you'd ever make when He chose you, and He STILL runs toward you. He doesn't see a fool who lost money—He sees His beloved daughter whose Provider is infinite and whose mistakes are already swallowed by the cross.
