"I was a mistake and shouldn't have been born. My parents didn't plan for me."
How it sounds in your head: Mom and dad weren't ready for me. I heard them say I came too soon. If I hadn't been born, their life would be easier. I'm the reason things are hard for them.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."
-- Jeremiah 1:5Enemy planting rejection before identity forms, using overheard adult conversations as weapons against a child's worth.
He overheard arguments about money or timing related to his birth, or relatives made comments about 'unplanned' pregnancies. His developing brain records these as evidence he's unwanted, not understanding adult context or that plans change when love enters.
Ishmael was literally called 'the son of the bondwoman,' cast out, dying in the desert - the ultimate unwanted child. God HEARD the boy crying, sent an angel, opened a well, and declared 'I will make him a great nation' - instant provision and destiny for the 'mistake' child.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm an accident or mistake. IT IS WRITTEN that God knew me before I was formed, sanctified me before birth, and ordained my purpose before I took my first breath. I am not a surprise to Heaven. I am not Plan B. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 139 that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and ALL God's works are marvelous. I carry the BARAK blessing of Abraham - protected, provided for, destined for greatness because of COVENANT, not because my parents planned perfectly. I am WANTED by the King of Heaven, and that settles it forever.
Your Father in Heaven SAW you before conception, PLANNED your exact DNA, CHOSE your birthday, and has been RUNNING toward you since before you took your first breath. Every moment your parents hesitated, HE was celebrating - throwing a party in Heaven for the son He CHOSE to send to earth at this exact moment in history.
